Neither

I heard he proposed to her, she declined, he announced it, and she denied it. It appears she does not want to get married to him at this time. As recently as March 2007, she denied an upcoming marriage despite continuing reports in the rumor mill.

Married?

I just watched the Candadian grand-prix training session, and the commentator described Yeoh as Todt's "new wife". -- 86.131.221.65 23:33, 11 Jun 2005 (UTC)

Engaged?

I rember reading in the newspaper a while ago that she was sporting a ring.

Redirect to Malaysian Actors???

Don't mind me, but Michelle Yeoh's nationality is still Malaysian not China Chinese. Should her article be redirected? TY.Gammadion 16:08, 14 October 2005 (UTC)

Ascension to fame

I have a small question regarding the phrasing of: Like many other Hong Kong stars, Yeoh has attempted to break into Hollywood. Despite starring in the James Bond film Tomorrow Never Dies (1997) --garnering considerable praise as one of the genre's most popular Bond Girls-- and the popular Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon (2000), which also starred Zhang Ziyi, she could have accepted the role of Seraph in the two Matrix sequels, but due to a scheduling conflict she was unable to accept them, so the Matrix writers changed Seraph into a male character and cast Collin Chou in the role.

Should the word "despite" be changed in the second sentence to "in addition to"? and is it possible to break the second sentence up into smaller sentences, since it's kind of long? 64.228.200.218 05:39, 26 December 2006 (UTC) Yinh

Neutrality of section "Ascencion to fame"

This section suffers from an an biased Anglo-American view in

  • stressing an alledged desire of Michelle Yeoh (or actors in general) to succeed in the American film business (as opposed to the Asian or European film business). Michelle Yeoh's [own statements] suggest no preference of her of American over Asian or European engagements.
  • specifying among her recent films only those Hollywood-produced or produced in English.

Citizenship ?

This fan site explicitely states that she is (still) a Malaysian citizen. Does anybody know if this info is still accurate (i.e. does she still have malaysian citizenship) ? It is possible, however, that she acquired Hong Kong citizenship when she married Dickson Poon, so she might have dual citizenship (I read somewhere that she renounced her malaysian citizenship upon taking her HK passport, but that might be inaccurate). Any info would be welcome. Jean-Jacques Georges (talk) 17:36, 7 May 2010 (UTC)

Don't Forget the 2010 reboot of The Karate Kid where she appear uncredited as the woman with the cobra.--Patlalrique (talk) 16:15, 13 October 2010 (UTC)

Inappropriate fact tags

Someone has added [citation needed] tags for the statements that Yeoh was Miss Malaysia World in 1983, and has chosen to edit war over it [1]. I find such tags ridiculous. There is no debate over the statement - the typical use for the tags - and if the editor merely thinks there should be a citation, then the editor should provide one rather than clutter the article with nonsense. Gimmetoo (talk) 16:22, 31 December 2010 (UTC)

I agree those are facts which are relatively easy to check and uncontroversial, hence there is no need for fact tag there. However it doesn't harm to provide an inline citation nevertheless or at least make sure that the Miss malaysia title is mentioned somewhere in the general sources.--Kmhkmh (talk) 02:06, 20 May 2011 (UTC)

Return to wuxia genre in 2010

I deleted that half line because despite being sourced it was obviously false and on top of that the source link was disfunctional and speaking of martial arts rather than wuxia. In any case by looking at her filmography you can immediately see some martial arts (or wuxia) movies she's done after crouching tiger and before reign of assassins (the touch, silverhawk, fearless, true llegend).--Kmhkmh (talk) 02:06, 20 May 2011 (UTC)

Date of birth

According to the Malaysia Star and [http://www.filmreference.com/film/49/Michelle-Yeoh.html filmreference] refs already in the article, she was born in 1963, so I have corrected the date. Some of the records linked by VIAF say 1963, others 1962: it is not unknown for library records to be incorrect. --Mirokado (talk) 01:24, 13 November 2011 (UTC)

Yes they do report that, however apparently falsely so. While it is true that the old sources for 1962 were not suitable for WP, the new sources are not really much better either and in addition even wrong. The correct date can be found here:

TV appearances section

I'm not 100% sure how to add a new section, but I know TV appearances generally don't go in filmography. Yeoh's made several, and in fact is starring in the final season of "Strike Back" as the main villain. That certainly deserves credit. Can someone who knows how to create that section do so, please? Stunts?

How credible is it that a person who sustained a spinal injury doing ballet later did her own Karate stunts? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 216.49.27.38 (talk) 02:04, 25 May 2022 (UTC)

Untitled section

The intro currently says the show Star Trek: Discovery is a CBS All Access/Netflix show. Although it's probably the case that Paramount+ (new name of CBS All Access) is where it can be seen in the USA but Netflix elsewhere in the world, it seems misleading to imply that it's partially a Netflix show. The show's intellectual property and production derives from CBS and Paramount, with Netflix having no involvement other than streaming rights (as far as I know).

Valid point; is there any indication if Netflix paid at all for the production of the show? Balon Greyjoy (talk) 17:03, 27 July 2022 (UTC)

Name note

There is a 'Chinese name' note "This is a Chinese name; the family name is Yeoh."

However, the article title is 'Michelle Yeoh'. This is not a Chinese name, and it is not ambiguous (to an English speaker) which name is the family name. I suggest the note is redundant.

2A00:23C6:A18C:3501:76:6CAA:4BF8:5BC (talk) 12:34, 29 September 2020 (UTC)

It's addressing the full name "Michelle Yeoh Choo Kheng" in which the Chinese given name is in front of the Chinese family name. WhisperToMe (talk) 22:16, 30 October 2022 (UTC)
